We are proud to announce that our AREA General Assembly who just met in Istanbul on 23 May, has welcomed AIPOR (the Portuguese Contractors Association of the Technical Installations) and OPSE, the Federation of HVACR Technicians of Greece as members.
Established in 2008, AIPOR represents exclusively the interests of the Portuguese Contractors of the Technical Installations, such as mechanical, electrical and electromechanical. In 2014, AIPOR established a Certification Body for persons according to ISO/IEC 17024.
We live in a time when decarbonisation is vital to ensure the future for the generations to come, and with European and global commitments underway in terms of energy efficiency and sustainability, we are sure that this new partnership will be very positive: working together will strengthen the market and human capital.
Mrs Celeste Campinho, President of the association, said:
“It is with great pride and responsibility that AIPOR associates itself to AREA, as a Member. We consider the work of AREA at the service of European countries and their Associations is extremely relevant for the enhancement of the Refrigeration, Air conditioning and Heat Pumps sectors. We believe that with this partnership, we will do more and better in supporting the Portuguese sector of the Technical Installations. The future is today and only together we can build a cohesive and safe path. Count with AIPOR!”
Established in 2001, OPSE is composed of 32 member associations of refrigeration technicians, which in turn represent 4,000 colleagues throughout the Greek territory. OPSE is in direct contact with the Greek government on all sectoral issues, making them a crucial partner and collaborator on the implementation of European legislation.
OPSE’ strength resides in their members and the members of their members. Together with the largest university in Greece, the National Technical University of Athens, OPSE has created a training program on new refrigerants.
President of the association, Mr. Dimitrios Kontousias, said:
“The Federation of HVACR Technicians of Greece has for the last 25 years had one and only purpose: to educate, inform and maintain the rights of technicians and above all their protection. Being at the center of European decisions is our greatest goal. This was the reason for us to join the big family of AREA, next to all HVACR partners from all over Europe, in order to participate and offer from our side as much as possible to the development and protection of the Environment.”
AREA now counts 26 member associations from 22 countries, including 19 out of the 27 EU Member States.
