AREA responds to the call for evidence by Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Denmark related to a REACH restriction proposal to limit the risks to the environment and human health from the manufacture and use of all per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

Supporting EPEE's arguments, AREA points out to the following:

1- PFAS have a wide range of different properties

2- F-gases are already successfully addressed by the F-Gas Regulation

3- Lower GWP HFCs and HFOs are essential to achieve the objectives of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol

4- Heating and cooling are essential to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050
